Classification of buildings and warehouses according to the “Hasantuk” system
- The Dubai Civil Defense divides buildings and warehouses into five main categories based on their size, number of floors, and required systems to ensure the highest safety and security standards.
The main categories are:
- For small buildings: consisting of two floors or less and an area not exceeding 5,000 square feet. It requires basic alarm systems such as fire alarm and low water level in the tank.
- Medium buildings: ranging from 3 to 7 floors and an area between 5,000 and 15,000 square feet. Requires more detailed alarm systems that include individual alarms for elevators and pumps in addition to general alarm systems.
- Large buildings: ranging from 8 to 20 floors and measuring between 15,000 and 200,000 square feet. Requires advanced alarm systems including individual alarms for elevators, pumps and gas leak detection systems.
- Large buildings: 20 floors or more and an area of more than 200,000 square feet. They require comprehensive alarm systems that include all of the previous types as well as more specialized alarm systems.
